Consuming inventory items

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

Production orders can be also used to "consume" inventory items without increasing quantity of finished good. For example, car dealer is using inventory items to track each car they own and at the same time, they use inventory items to track spare parts they have in inventory.

Spare parts are not used to manufacture new vehicles. Rather they are used to repair and maintain existing vehicles.

For example, you just used some spare parts to maintain (or improve) the vehicle which is also an inventory item.

In this case you want to decrease the quantity of spare parts in inventory without increasing number of vehicles you have.

In order to do this, follow the same process as for manufacturing however when entering quantity of finished item, enter zero (as to not increase number of vehicles).

When you do this, MYBOS will decrease your inventory for spare parts and transfer the cost of these spare parts into the vehicle.
