Tracking Codes

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

Tracking Codes will allow you to track income, expenses and profitability by division. Let's say you have three divisions: Alfa, Beta and Gamma.

When you record income, you will be able to select which division the income should be allocated to.

The same applies to expenses. If expense should be spread across multiple divisions, you can split the expense to allocate right amount to each division.

To see income, expenses and profitability by divisions, go to Reports tab.

Click Profit and Loss Statement.

Create new report by clicking New Report button.

When you setup profit and loss statement, you can use comparative layout where each column should represent a division.

Click Create button to save the report.

View the report so see income, expenses and profitability of all your divisions side by side for the specified period.

Be aware that this report will show only amounts where tracking code has been specified. You should always check Tracking Exception Report under Reports tab to reveal all transactions where no tracking code has been used. Typically all your income and expenses will belong to one or more divisions so Tracking Exception Report should reveal all transactions where tracking code hasn't been specified.
